PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Ogier is a French wine company based in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the southern Rhône since 1859. Ogier has excelled in producing exceptional wines and sharing its definitiion of the Art of Living. Most of its land holdings are in the Southern Rhône area producing wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Lirac. Ogier’s wines are an ode to finesse, elegance and freshness.

 

Gigondas is a village in the southern Rhône valley and an appellation for red and rosé wines. Both colors are made from up to 80 percent Grenache (according to the appellation laws), with at least 15 percent comprised of Syrah and Mourvèdre. The quality measures taken in the creation of Gigondas' wines include the mandatory selection of healthy grapes over imperfect grapes, known in French as triage. Maximum yield is set at 36 hectoliters per hectare. The resulting style of wine made under the appellation is typically bold, forward, ripe and relatively high in alcohol.

 

Grape: Grenache, Syrah

 

Sensory Notes: Frank ruby color. Nose: Elegant and complex nose with aromas of fruits, kirsch and hints of brushwood and menthol notes. Palate: Round and full-bodied, and at the same time very elegant and quite fresh. Long and fruity finish with hints of vanilla.

 

Food Pairing: Best pairing with meat, lamb, roast duck, casseroles.
